Blog 6: The Saturday Boy - Summarry & Genre

Derek's mom made Derek go to Budgie's house because she had somewhere to go. Budgie and Derek had a great time. Budgie even wanted Derek to sleep over. At school Budgie denied them having fun and said he was just pretending. Derek vandalized the school with mean things about Budgie. 

The genre of The Saturday boy is Realistic Fiction. It is Realistic Fiction because the main character goes through many real life difficulties. For example his dad is in the Army and he doesn't get to see him often. The main character lives a normal life as a regular kid would.  The story is not real but I think it is something that it could be based of an actual persons life.
